I hope everyone has had a lovely week. Tomorrow we are celebrating my younger sister’s birthday and today will likely be filled with some last minute prep. Speaking of my sister, she’s the one who took these beautiful photos of me and for me last month. Worn on a sunny October day, we walked through the back fields of our village to capture this outfit. The sun was in and out of the clouds the entire time but we made it work and got some lovely shots of this look. Though i love all the autumnal hues for this season, warming browns, rusty oranges and burnt reds but anyone who knows me well enough also knows how much I love wearing whites all year long, no matter the season. The dress has this chalky white shade and I find that the softer tones of white an easier shade of white to style in the autumn. Last time I styled this dress (see here) I paired it with a warm brown cardigan which bought the autumnal element into the outfit but this time I wanted a more tonal look and so I layered my cream coloured vest over the top which accentuated the voluminous sleeves perfectly, whilst also bringing in those soft and cosy feels that made the outfit look and feel more seasonally on point. Styling whites doesn’t have to be tricky to navigate, summer whites should feel crisp and cool, autumnal whites should feel soft, winter whites look especially great when styling is kept tonal and spring whites should feel fresh, think pairing your whites with splashes of colour.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Sending you love and light,
