Hey lovelies, my first outfit of the week is this simple one with some wide leg, white jeans and and oversized navy knit layered over a basic white tee. For years I have embraced oversized proportions, I suppose I like the lack of structure within an outfit that has no real defining points and how it can somehow still look proportional. Loose proportions like these are the anti-sexy and growing up with a non-feminist father who always made it clear that women only looked good in short skirts, dresses and heels! I guess this kind of made me lean further into these more casual looks as I began to develop my own sense of style, rather than the more stereotypical short skirt, dresses and heels style. I love dresses and I am fond of skirts (though admittedly I tend to gravitate towards a midi-skirt over a mini but certainly not opposed to either) and as long as they aren’t skyscraper heels, I do love the extra confidence a heel can lend me from time to time, I just can’t wear them for any length of time. But that said, simple, fuss-free and comfortable pieces worn with thoughtful nonchalance is something I am much more compatible with, sartorially speaking. I hope you like today’s look.
Sending you love and light,
Daniella x
