My Approach To Styling Winter Browns

Happy Monday lovelies, todays look shares some pieces I received for christmas and because I became unwell just after the new year, it took me a minute to style these pieces into a look! The trousers and the knit are from one of my favourite british brands, Olive. I don’t usually style an outfit using different items all from the same brand, as I prefer to mix and match brands, or combine old pieces of mine with newer ones. But because my only rule when it comes to personal style, is I have no rules ( I tend to lean towards guidelines over rules) I was able to make an exception to and go ahead by styling both these wool trousers and knitted sweater that are both from Olive, together. Some may find all the brown too much, but I felt it worked because whenever you’re styling a lot of the same colour into one look, that one of the best ways to break it up, is by bringing in texture and this combination certainly had texture and especially with the rich brown of the suede boots! Though it is a little tricky to see, the fedora is this beautifully rich navy blue colour which was a nice contrast to the browns, plus I felt this timeless style bought a continuation to the overall androgyny of the outfit.

Well, that’s all from todays outfit post.

Sending you love and light, Daniella x

  1. Oh my gosh, this is like the winter outfit of my dreams! The lovely soft heathery browns and low color contrast between color items…the perfectly crisp white collar…and those yummy chocolate brown boots! I’m dying. This is exactly what I envision for myself and can just never find in my size/height/blah blah blah.

    Thanks for sharing this beauty!

    1. Wow, thank you some much for your kind comment! I am so glad you like the look and I appreciate you recognising the smaller details such as the collar of the white shirt. I understand what you are saying, I have often envisioned a look on myself but finding the right pieces with the right length, fit etc isn’t always easy. Thank you again and wishing you a lovely weekend, Daniella x
