Happy Wednesday lovelies, I hope this week is treating you well! I am getting a little excited at the idea of the upcoming festivities that are starting to creep in! Yes, my family and I are very enthusiastic about Christmas, it’s like it’s in our DNA! And this week we are hoping to go and select our tree (not to bring it home, just choose it and have delivered in December) and also go to some local Christmas light switch on celebrations. We didn’t get to do those things last year but I am hoping that this year it is going to be different. Though Christmas is at the forefront of my mind, I am also still fully engaged with the present season because the autumn is in full swing and we are getting to enjoy it in all it’s warm and natural beauty.
A few weeks back I was putting away the last of my summer clothes and just as I was putting away this white maxi dress, I was inspired to try pairing it with a chunky cable-knit cardigan, which I liked as a combination but it needed some finishing touches! I added a brown leather belt to make the outfit look and feel more together and completed with a classic fedora hat, my autumn must-have. My goodness, that takes me back to when I used to finish almost every look with a belt around the middle of my outfit! I really liked the textured juxtaposition that the cotton dress and heavy knit created and when completed with my chunky boots and fedora hat/mum’s fedora hat…. that i’ve now claimed, felt very inspired by the tough yet fragile elements of nature. It’s rugged meets romantic and the kind of androgyny that I love in an outfit. I hope you like today’s style!
Sending you love and light,
