One of my favourite looks that I often come back to is the simple yet effective navy knit and white denim combo. For someone like me who often likes to re-visit timeless combinations such as this one, it’s important to find new ways to somewhat reinvent these go-to classic looks. Yes, a knitted navy crew neck or v-neck teamed with a pair of straight leg jeans is always a winner but it’s also good to keep in mind that if you want to change it up whilst not straying too far from what styles you like, then to consider playing with different shapes or looking for timeless styles with Interesting details whilst also keeping to the classic nature of these pieces.
So to give you an idea, today i’m wearing this oversized navy knitted sweater that has this subtle ruffled sleeve detailing, which I think is a great example of what a modern update can look like to an otherwise classic style. The same goes for the white jeans, yes, nothing beats a good fitting pair of straight leg jeans but this pair from Zara has a little more volume and also a slightly tapered look. Again nothing too daring but enough to make the outfit feel more refreshed. I also wore my beige cotton shirt underneath the knit, which not only made a nice change to a crisp white shirt (my usual go-to) but it also lent the outfit a neutral earthy tone and well, a little collar detailing is always a nice touch, wouldn’t you agree.
This outfit was styled with Spring in mind but it’s also perfect for barbecues on summer evenings when theres a chill or just when it’s a colder day and even early autumn this outfit would work well.
Sending you love and light,
Daniella x
