A couple of weekends ago, we ventured out to Sherborne Castle for a family afternoon. It was mostly because they were holding a classic/supercar event and with my boyfriend being into car photography, we thought it would be a great opportunity for him to get some images. I had a little idea on what to expect on the location of Sherborne Castle and what it would entail but I was extremely and pleasantly surprised. Yes, the car event was great and there were a lot of beautiful cars there, old and new but that part of it was excessively busy and i’m not entirely comfortable in big crowded spaces, i’m just very sensitive to being around all that energy. But once we wondered off from where the car event was being held and discovered the gardens, I was completely entranced with the nature, history and beauty of the Sherborne Castle gardens.

When we first arrived there the weather was miserable but by the time we were able to view the gardens, it had cleared up and it made the adventure around the historical gardens even prettier. Unfortunately we didn’t get around to seeing the castle itself, which is a shame because I would have loved to of seen the architecture and the interior, as well as get a better understanding of the history of Sherborne Castle. We also were  unable to get to their cafe, it was completely overrun with people, which I am hoping was due to the car event being on, rather then it just typically always being that busy! But I suppose that gives us a good reason to go up there again and maybe take my mum and nephews.

I was so glad we decided to take Nova-Rose with us, she loved being out, I really do think she’s going to be nature girlie. It can be a little nerve racking when you’re first time parents taking a baby out for the day but she only made even more special and memorable. The only downfall about Sherborne Castle was the toilet facilities. They were so small and they had no baby changing equipment in the mens toilets….it’s 2019 people! Apart from that, it was an amazing afternoon and memories i’ll treasure forever.

Sending you love and light,

Daniella x
