For my last post of the week, I’m sharing this outfit which features two of my my favourite buys from the spring as well as some of my older wardrobe staples too. One of which includes these old but nevertheless humble and classic chinos. I remember when I bought these in a Topshop sale years ago for something £12.00 and that was at a time where I didn’t really shop sales. But my instincts to buy them wasn’t wrong because whether they’re for basic everyday style or for creating something different, I’ve found that a good old pair of chinos never really let me down. As much as I love the style I am wearing for a classic look of chinos, I would love to find a pair of wide leg chinos. I have subtly looked and there was a nice pair on Ganni but they had an elasticated waist that I wasn’t sure about, I don’t know though, maybe. I’ve also considered trying on a few styles from the men’s department because if past purchases have taught me anything, it’s that the men’s sections usually has the styles that I’m looking for.
For today’s style, I loved how the classic nature of both the gingham print and the chinos looked together. But for a personal updated twist I added in my metallic pointy toe boots, a frayed oversized denim jacket and a green netted style bag. Apart from the boots, all the pieces I was wearing are light and so perfect for those chiller summer days.
Tomorrow I’ll be celebrating my birthday a week early with a family sports day followed by a BBQ! I’ll try and update my Instagram, which I’ll probably do via stories. So if you want to check it out, you know where to go!
