I’ve mentioned it before that I am always tying to improve my overall health and I am a big believer that one way to do that is by being mindful of the food we put into our bodies. I’ve always been somewhat aware of this truth but only in the last couple of years have I really opened up and stopped being so ignorant about what I consume. An organic way of life is something I am striving for and where it can be afforded, i’ll try my best to incorporate it. Earlier this year, I really felt a strong pull to make sure we try and eat more organic because I mostly cook meals that consist of vegetables as I am a strong believer in the healing power of fruit and veg. Because of these beliefs I have come to the conclusion that if I want to benefit from the healing properties of fruit and vegetables then I need to ensure that the fruit i’m putting into my body is as pure as I can get.

This is what lead me to Riverford organic farmers. They are a great service and I really enjoy shopping from them. You can go to their website and you can order ready made fruit and vegetables boxes or you can choose what goes in them yourself (this is what I prefer to do) and then they deliver it to you. It comes in a box that you leave out each time you get a new delivery to ensure it’s getting reused and not going to waste.

They have a superb range that extends further then the “normal”  fruit and vegetables and they often have new vegetables that you don’t always find in the supermarkets. They also give you tips on how to best cook and store them. We don’t buy them weekly instead its more like every two weeks because it is expensive to shop organic wherever you choose to go but its better then nothing and that’s how I choose to look at it.

Interesting notes: I read on their Instagram feed that Non organic farmers are allowed to use up to 320 artificial pesticides! Whereas organic farms are only permitted to use 15 pesticides that come from natural ingredients. Makes you think huh?!

Anyway, I thought I’d share this with you as I always look forward to receiving my fresh produce from Riverford and because I want to share and document my path to a healthier way of living. I hope you like it and before I go I wanted to let you know that I created this post of my own back, it’s not sponsored in any way, I’m just spreading the word from my own experience.

Take care,

Daniella xox
