Today I wanted to share with you something a little different then my normal style posts, something that’s close to my heart. I’ll get back to that in a minute, let me first explain why this post has come about.
At the beginning of the year, I got thinking about some of the things that I hope to achieve or change for the better in 2017 and one of the things was giving a little more to charities that I believe in. I’ve never been someone who believes in just one charity, not that there is anything wrong with that, it’s just I have always been touched by many different causes but admittedly it’s the welfare of dogs that has always been my constant. Anyway, basically once a month I choose a charity that touches my heart to donate to, just a small amount, nothing to boast about. I know it sounds cringe to share this but i’m honestly not sharing this to get a pat on the back or any kind of recognition and trust me I was worried that I would be judged for sharing this incase people thought that’s why I’m sharing this post! The reason I am sharing this information is because I want to do more then just give a little donation, I wanted to give a little light to the charities that I believe in with the hopes it might touch someones else’s heart who is reading it and so that’s why every now and again I will share different charities on the blog.
I know I am not a big blog but even if I can give a little exposure to the charities that I believe in, then I will feel like i’m succeeding in what I have set out to do this year and hopefully every year from now on. I know giving to charity is a very personal thing and I am honestly not here to judge. A lot of people aren’t in the position to give and that’s okay, like I said it’s not about judging it’s about me sharing whats important to me. I think that’s the great thing about charity, you don’t have to always donate money, you can donate time, you can donate things if they have a shop or you know, you can sell things on eBay and donate some of or all of the money you make from that. Or you can simply spread the word. Some may think that is hypocritical, like if you are aren’t donating money why tell others too but I don’t believe it’s about telling others to donate just simply sharing a tweet, a Facebook share or an Instagram is enough because it shines a light on a cause that you believe in. It was seeing Wild at Heart on someone I follow Instagram page that alerted me to the charity, so in a way you are giving, it’s kinda like free advertisement.
Sorry if I have rambled on, I just wanted to get my point across as sincerely as I possibly could. I felt drawn to the Wild at Heart foundation because I, like most people, care for dogs deeply and I have always grown up always with a dog in my life. The thought of harm or neglect to them or any animal in any way effects me on a profoundly deep level. I love the projects that the wild at heart foundation supports and so that is why I want to show my own support in one of the ways I know how.
Below I will share a link to their website, if you would like to find out more about this charity. Also check out the cool sweatshirts they sell, they are awesome, I hope to get one of my own soon enough.
On a last note I was not approached by the charity in any way to write this post! I have done so because I wanted to and because I felt passionate about the charity.
