Last week I shared some photos of this Topshop Boutique coat and today you can see how i’m styling it for the first time. Excuse my face in the photos, I was recovering from a cold and couldn’t breath through my nose. I styled the coat with a pair of simple jeans, a classic cashmere knit and checked shirt. I wore the coat open to show the button detailing, which admittedly on first sight I thought was a little much. But now I have become used to the buttons, I really like them. Can we also just touch upon the sleeves and the awesome exaggerated ties at the end of the sleeves, they are so cool right?! The more I write and look at this jacket/coat the more I realise that it is a true statement piece but in a way that isn’t too in your face. I never really looked at it before with the thought it was a statement coat but I guess I was wrong.
Can you believe we are in final week of the lead up to Christmas! It has come around frighteningly quickly. I’m hoping to start relaxing into it now and just try and soak up all the festive fun, like getting all my wrapping done, all my cards written, watching my favourite Christmas films and sneaking in the odd snowball (a somewhat traditional British Christmas drink).
I would also like to touch upon the tragedy that has hit Aleppo Syria. My heart continues to go out to all those involved, especially the children who are having to experience such trauma that will probably haunt them for the rest of their lives. I have two young nephews and I shouldn’t have to feel blessed that they are growing up somewhere safe, because all children should be blessed to have a happy, healthy and safe childhood. If you can spare a thought, a prayer or even a small donation (click here) then do. The world needs love, positivity and a sense of community more then ever right now.
Anyway have a great week.
Take care,
Daniella xox
