For the last two years I have wanted to shoot a look that features this dress but I just have never gotten around to doing so. Then finally back at the beginning of August I styled a look that featured the dress. We found a location that we had never shot at before and I simply love the end result. Don’t get me wrong I love me some pink and especially these last two seasons but this dress is, well, very pink, very girly and well, a slight departure from my what I would usually style into my looks. But since I have never really pigeon holed my style, the above statement isn’t really applicable.
There is a little story behind this dress, which makes the dress all the more special to me and why I really wanted to wear it. This dress was originally designed by my mum for her to wear to her wedding party thirty years ago now! She wore the gingham dress with a cowboy hat and it really is one of those dresses that you can really twirl around in, all day I was spinning around the house. To wear the dress instead of the dress wearing me, I styled it with a t-shirt underneath added a grey knit to go around my waist (also handy for when it got chilly later that evening) and finished off with my Marni sandals with the added exception of my round sunglasses and chain bracelet.
I hope you like the way I styled it, I know it’s not a look for everyone but I loved wearing it.
Take care,
