I’ve had this dress hanging on my rail waiting to be worn for about four months now! I don’t know why I waited, I mean it’s not an issue incorporating it into a winter look but I guess deep down I wanted to save it for Spring. I had been on a search for the perfect mid-length and floor length slip dress for about year now and before Christmas I was on The White Company website looking for gifts when I found this silky gem. It is a nightdress, not an inspired version and was in the sleepwear section but that’s where you tend to find the best ones, mainly because they are the authentic. I find that brands can often add in little details here and there, which is fine but in this instance all I wanted was a straight forward simple piece that’s classic in its design.
Whilst we are still in the midst of this rather chilly spring, I layered the silk slip nightdress over a nude tee, which I must point out is becoming my most beloved t-shirt in my wardrobe! I then chose my grey fringe, suede jacket because nude and grey together compliment beautifully. Plus you can’t beat styling an ultra feminine dress with an edgier biker jacket, it’s kinda timeless. If you do find yourself wanting to try out this seasons must have slip dress but still feel it’s too cold then my styling trick is too wear a pair of nude coloured leggings underneath. Though if your slip dress was a darker shade then obviously you could get away with a navy or black pair of leggings.
My other tip is to finish off with a pair of sneakers for a paired back, modern look.
Will you be slip dressing it?
