I bought this skirt back way in the January sales and though I could have worn it sooner with tights I wanted to save it so I could wear it exactly the way that I had envisioned wearing it rather then compromise with annoying tights. I think it’s such a striking piece and I don’t really own anything like this skirt and the colours is even more stunning in person. I remember seeing it on the Topshop website at the end of last year and I remember loving it then. I think the skirt was an online return to our Taunton store because I don’t remember seeing it in there before. Thankfully it was in my size and so I snapped it up. Love it when that happens! I have to say that most of my best sale bargains all come from my local Topshop store.

When it came to styling the full skirt, I wanted to contradict the femininity and so I wore my navy bomber jacket with it. I kept my top neutral with my good old, beige fine knit. This really emphasised the navy and red, creating quite a blog look. Though my automatic thinking was to pair of chunky flats with this look, I instead chose my cream ankle boots with the tortoise shell heel, I found they added to the retro tones of the skirt. I so wish I got a close up shot that included the heels of the boots with the skirt because was such a nice detail to the eye.

Take care and have an awesome week,
