Even though my sisters birthday was over a week ago now, I really wanted to share some of the photos I managed to take. Since my mum was in hospital before my sisters birthday, I took over the planning of my sisters decorations. I liked the idea of creating something along the lines of an enchanted forest, slightly mystical. It entered in our hallway, which is quite a big room with high ceilings. This made creating a whole new theme on a budget rather challenging. Apart from the balloons, I didn’t get anything from the usually birthday decoration shops. Instead I looked online for prop shops, which turned out to be a great idea. Whilst it’s not that cheap, the quality is much better and not so easily disposable, like a lot of birthday decorations. Meaning, i’ll be able to re-use the items for future events. I also went to material shops and bought the scraps. We collected the fallen leaves from off the ground and scattered them round the table, creating a path. We bought fake flowers from The Range and even though they aren’t as nice as real ones, they set the scene in the way I wanted them to and I think with the help of some spray paint and some glitter, they can be used agin for Christmas.
We desperately tried to get a macaroon tower for my sister but unfortunately, I had left it to late. So instead I ordered some and just scattered them on my cake dish. Overall we pulled it together and I think she liked it too. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
Take care,
