Get Inspired With Pre-Fall: The Row

I was taking a look at all my Pre Fall Pins on Pinterest the other day, to refresh my mind with some style inspiration from our current season. Then when I was in Topshop back along, I came across this beautiful cape that reminded me just a little of that amazing blanket style cape from the beautiful Pre Fall collection by The Row. So I thought, it would be cool to share with you some of my favourite looks from the Pre Fall season, along with some outfit ideas to get you in the mood for the cooler season.

Obviously I had to start with this look by The Row and I know the proportions of this look are not for everyone but I like it and I think there are ways of recreating this look and even for those who think they would like they were drowning in material. Here are some of my style solutions:

  • If you’re going to go full steam ahead with baggy proportions with both a super sized cape/blanket and wide-leg slouchy trousers, then hold your head high with absolute confidence. Because it’s the attitude that you possess that will either make or break the look.

  • Try A cropped Trouser! If you don’t think you want to go oversized on both the top and bottom, then swap wide leg trousers for a pair of cropped tailored trousers. This will bring a complimentary balance to the idea.

  • Go tonal. What I mean by this is keep the cape and trousers in a similar colour pallet. Like the Topshop combination pictured above. This keeps the look extremely streamline, bringing more fluidity to the outfit as opposed to volume.

I hope you like todays post.

Take care,

Daniella xox

  1. Oh I do so adore the blanket cape in all it’s snuggly glory. Alas it is just too impractical with small grabby children at my heels! I have been wondering about a shorter length to re-create a version of the look but am worried about coming off like a Mexican in one of those old Hollywood westerns. You convinced me Daniella, I’m going for it! Head held high x

    1. It is indeed a glorious cape! Living with two little nephews, I completely understand what you mean but a shorter length style will be a great alternative. It’s surprising how many things a cape will go with and not to mention how perfect it is for transitional weather. Yay, i’m glad to hear you’re going to go for it! 🙂 x
