I love all the outfit possibilities that can come with one simple slip dress. The design as I said is that of a simple one but nevertheless a very effective design. It can look sleek and sexy in a late 90’s early 2000 minimalist kinda way or it can look cool and edgy styled with 90’s grunge in mind. But of course it doesn’t just boil down to those two options. Like any piece, it is what you make of it and I guess the point I was trying to make is that there are two easy go-to styles if you’re not sure where to start. The slip dress gives the notion of nightwear as daywear, a style of dressing i’ve been fan of for a few years now.
If you can find one in the right material and colour, it becomes even more versatile. Like there is nothing suggesting that this style of dress can’t be transformed and be worn as top! This is something I have been doing with this dress since buying it all those years ago. A good slip dress could certainly pass for a new kind of wardrobe staple. See I can imagine my mum to say she couldn’t wear a slip dress because she has bigger boobs and she doesn’t like to look to tit-y but this is where wearing something like a t-shirt or a turtleneck underneath would eliminate that worry. An oversized knitted sweater worn over the top would also work well in this instance.
