Okay, I’m not saying I love snake print more then I love donuts because that may just be criminal because I f***ing LOVE donuts, like worryingly so but I do love me my snake print pieces and even though I don’t have many reptile inspired items hanging in my wardrobe (because i’m equally as fussy with the print) I always find new ways to style the ones that I do have. Snake print is oddly versatile and whilst leopard print is undoubtedly a classic, I’ll admit that I don’t find it as easy to style.
The snakes complexion has inspired many designers past and present and in turn has all kinds of people, (myself included) fascinated with this print but funnily enough, I have never been a fan of the animal itself. I love all creatures and in no way would I want one to suffer but ever since one tried to MURDER me when a little girl, I don’t know, i’ve just for not been into snakes!
Okay i’m being extreme but it’s true that when I was young girl there was a man at the hotel we were staying at who came to the show kids all these “exotic” animals and a snake was one them. The kids could hold the animals and so the man proceeded to balance the snake on my shoulders but then turned to talk someone else, whilst he decided to chat away (clearly more important then watching over a nine year old girl with a freaking snake on her) the snake started to wrap itself around my neck, something in which he had told us before hand was a way of killing it’s pray! Maniacally tapping at the guy, to get his attention, which obviously I eventually got because i’m here typing this today and am thankfully not known as the girl who got strangled by a snake, I can safely say that’s probably the main reason I dislike the creature! But in a way I don’t really blame the snake, as it was being paraded round a bunch of kids, not exactly it’s natural habitat.
Do you like snake print or snakes for that matter?
